Calling for an End to the Occupation

There is a serious situation in a city occupied by the United States. For this year alone, the city has 279 recorded cases of murder against citizens of America, in addition to a horrifying 611 cases of rape. Looting is rampant, with over 13,000 cases of burglary and over 9,000 cases of robbery. There is also nearly 10,000 recorded cases of aggravated assault, which takes the total number of violent crimes well over 20,000.

This city has a history of rioting and rampant criminal behavior against the U.S. police presence there. Nearly half of the recorded cases of homicide in the city were committed against the policing officials of the United States government. In addition, a serious energy crisis has yet to be fully resolved in the city, and many citizens are complaining that the water supply is undrinkable.

Clearly, the presence of the United States is not helping the people in this city. Clearly, the United States should pull out and let the people of that city figure things out on their own, because, without question, the policing powers of our government are not welcome in the city of Los Angeles, California.

We have no reason to be there. The city is not a threat to our security and, no matter how hard we look, we can’t seem to find weapons of mass destruction in the hands of terrorists there. We probably came into that land because of a vested interest in its natural resources or for sheer political reasons. I don’t think our government is being honest with us concerning Los Angeles, and I don’t think a good reason for our occupation has been outlined to the American public. Can we honestly say that the city is any better off since we occupied it? Sure, the people live under a flag of freedom, but what was the cost of that freedom?

Families are torn apart every day in Los Angeles. The violence is so rampant that nobody who visits the city feels safe walking around at night, and, because of the sensitive political climate, one never knows when current events can give rise to another of Los Angeles’ famous riots. The citizens of the city can’t live a peaceful life with us around, because we are not doing enough to stop the looting, rape, and murder there. Obviously, we must pull out.

Do we occupy the city because we think we’re better than everybody else? Isn’t it time we handed the situation over to some other authority, like the U.N. perhaps?

Here in America, we think that guns and violence are the cures for the city’s problems, but I can say for sure that the people of Los Angeles are tired of police walking around with guns, ready to use force on any man who dares to oppose them. When the citizens riot, we use tear gas on them. Surely we could solve things more peacefully than that, but, no, we have to be bullies and bravados. I say it’s time for the occupation to end.

And I’m tired of our government telling us that things will get better in Los Angeles. Things will never get better in that city until the United States pulls out of it and lets the people decide how to deal with life on their own. The United States is obviously at fault for the city’s crime and utility problems. Before the United States came along, did anybody in that city complain about lack of water or power? Did anybody in that city complain about anything?

It’s about time we in America realize that we are nothing but a force of evil in this world. We should stop trying to solve the world’s problems, because we need to recognize that we are the only source of those problems. If we stopped interfering and imposing our foolish beliefs of freedom and equality, places like Los Angeles would be better places to live.
